A Senior Scientist drives advanced research projects from conception through execution, applying deep technical expertise to generate novel insights, mentor junior staff, and translate findings into strategic innovations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and design complex experiments, selecting appropriate methodologies and analytical techniques to address research objectives.
- Oversee data analysis, interpret results, and synthesize conclusions into clear reports, publications, and presentations.
- Mentor and supervise junior scientists and technicians, fostering skill development and ensuring rigorous adherence to protocols.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, regulatory, and commercialization teams to align research outcomes with organizational goals.
- Identify emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities to inform long-term research strategy and resource planning.
- Maintain compliance with safety, ethical, and regulatory standards, and contribute to grant writing or funding proposals as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- PhD (or MS with extensive industry experience) in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Engineering).
- 5+ years of hands-on research experience demonstrating leadership of multidisciplinary projects.
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications and/or patents.
- Strong expertise in experimental design, statistical analysis, and a range of laboratory or computational techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership and project-management abilities, with a collaborative mindset and strategic vision.
